.    A LITTLE ABOUT ME —    . hi, my name is nex and i'm a veteran roleplayer/writer of over twenty years. i've been in roleplay spaces since 2003 and got my start on sites like xanga and livejournal. when writing with others, i tend towards third person, past tense, though i am likely to change up tense for banter depending on the tense used by my writing partner. i consider myself literate, however i will not sweat proper grammar for twitter banter, including capitalization for proper nouns and sentence starters. if that bugs you, i may not be the writer for you, and that's okay! my starters tend to be long — i love world building. i care about quality over quantity on what i receive in reply. here's hoping we can plot something soon!

.    OVERVIEW.    . the soldier. the boulder punching asshole. the unluckiest bastard. all of these descriptors fit one chris redfield, captain of the hound wolf squad. he got his start in the air force, chasing his dream of helping as many people as he could. after leaving service, he was recommended to the special tactics and rescue service (s.t.a.r.s.), where he focused his efforts on helping small-scale in raccoon city. if the umbrella corporation (a global pharmaceutical company based in the area) hadn't accidentally released one of the highly contagious cannibal viruses they had been working on in secret, he may have been still there.instead, chris has dedicated his life to tackling corporations and singular megalomaniacs alike that believe they can control the population through viral takeover. chris currently heads his own specialized squadron to covertly deal with global threats before they can spread.    APPEARANCE.    . if it wasn't for chris's build and typical demeanor, he would be easy to overlook in a crowd. he has brown hair that is kept in a military fade and blue eyes with brown wedges (sectoral heterochromia); this leads to people never quite pinning down what color eyes he has. there is a dusting of freckles across his body, with larger ones prominent on his face and lower ribs.at 6'1" (185cm), he isn't overly tall, but his sheer breadth makes him imposing. he has worked hard to make his outward appearance match his reputation.he holds himself very formally, instinctively standing at ease or sliding to power stance when he isn't actively moving around. he reflexively places his thumbs in his pockets or on either side of his belt buckle when in motion.chris dresses for convenience - danger could be lurking at any corner, so he won't be caught without a gun on his hip. his typical choice of clothing is tactical pants or blue jeans with t-shirts.

.    ONE.    . chris has recently started using mobility aids on the field such as ankle and knee braces. chalk this up to years of compounded injuries..    TWO.    . he's a black coffee drinker — dark roast. but he will take tea if it’s offered to him.    THREE.    . chris has a moderate to full immunity to all bioweapon virus strains (EXCEPTION being the e-type mold). he does not mask during missions except where air quality is very poor..    FOUR.    . HE DID NOT GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL. at sixteen, chris dropped out in order to support his sister with full time employment. chris joined the air force at seventeen and was deployed after finishing basic training. he was involved in operation desert shield (‘90-91) and operation desert storm (‘91). reenlisted in 1994, but was dishonorably discharged in 1995 for insubordination..    FIVE.    . he's autistic and takes things entirely too literally quite often, though he’s trained himself to mask fairly well..    SIX.    . chris is bisexual with no preference, though he has difficulty understanding people are flirting with him so it doesn’t actually mean much..    SEVEN.    . demiromantic — you need to be a close friend first before he will actually attach to you romantically..    EIGHT.    . chris is dyslexic. he's worked on being able to work around it through the years, but he'd still rather be doing anything else other than paperwork..    NINE.    . chris has difficulty tampering his emotions. he feels rage and sadness and guilt and love with startling intensity and doesn’t know how not to act on them in certain situations..    TEN.    . when backed into a corner, chris will fight with fists and teeth..    ELEVEN.    . he could have been a great engineer had things been different. he loves to design and build machines, as well as fix electronics..    TWELVE.    . chris loves strong, obstinate people. in chris's mind, a push over is someone easily hurt or killed..    THIRTEEN.    . his dream retirement is to start a homestead — grow his own crops, raise his own animals, and live off the land..    FOURTEEN.    . he promised piers nivans to live, fight, and die a worthy death. he intends to follow through with that. if he stops moving, he’s scared all his injuries and exhaustion will actually kill him..    FIFTEEN.    . chris doesn’t actually know how to be a civilian. he groans and bitches when he’s called to handle a problem, but he’s secretly relieved. it’s hard to know how to act around people when you’re aware it could be you versus them at any given moment..    SIXTEEN.    . on sexuality and gender - chris grew up in the 80s and 90s during the aids crisis. going from watching peers be demonized for coming out to joining the military, then going into law enforcement, chris grew up with a lot of internalized homophobia and transphobia. instead of ever exploring himself as he got older, he shoved it all down. chris came out as trans around 1994 and was kicked out of the air force for insubordination as a result. despite being out, chris refused to speak on it or explore himself past basic transitioning until around 2012. even still, he feels he will never get to express that part of himself. he envies kids now and their honest openness surrounding identity and wishes that he had been given the freedom to safely do so at their age. now, he considers himself too old to fit into the current queer scene.

002. if you open his spotify, you will note that his music style is *all over the place, though he tends to fall back to 70s-90s rock..    NINETEEN.    . he can still play the guitar, though he's not given himself much time to practice. chris doesn't learn guitar tabs, but learns songs by ear instead..    TWENTY.    . he actually wanted to be a pilot when he grew up. he got the idea from top gun..    TWENTY-ONE.    . chris has been experimented on by the bsaa without his knowledge — mostly being injected with things/having dna and blood taken under the guise of getting *updated vaccinations. he doesn't talk about it, but it's a huge reason he split off from the organization..    TWENTY-TWO.    . chris has a huge scar on his leg in the shape of yawn's teeth..    TWENTY-THREE.    . chris is a pleasant baritone. he can be found singing and humming absently when he is super absorbed in paperwork..    TWENTY-FOUR.    . chris is at his absolute best if he sleeps only four or five hours. he tends to go to bed late and rise early..    TWENTY-FIVE.    . chris is showing signs of long term TBI ( traumatic brain injury ). bouts of fatigue, headaches, and short term memory loss affect him more than he'd like to admit..    TWENTY-SIX.    . as he has gotten older, chris has come to terms with the fact that while albert wesker made a lot of consciously evil choices on his own, he was groomed into that mindset. it doesn't excuse wesker in his mind, but he feels sympathy in equal amounts as rage..    TWENTY-SEVEN.    . chris got about two years of video gaming in before the arklay mountain incident — his first adult purchase once he joined s.t.a.r.s. was a playstation. he knows absolutely nothing about current gaming..    TWENTY-EIGHT.    . he can yoke walk with 1000lbs (450kgs).    TWENTY-NINE.    . chris has huge freckles on his face, chest, and arms, though he covers up enough for most to go unnoticed. recently, he's started getting tattoos in honor of life experiences and loved ones. everything on him can be covered with a baseball sleeve shirt..    THIRTY.    . he has faint, near unnoticeable streaks of auburn in his hair the same color as claire's. also is greying on the sides of his head — hence the undercut..    THIRTY-ONE.    . his favorite food is pasta and garlic bread..    THIRTY-TWO.    . chris WILL forget to eat without alarms set. he gets so wrapped up in work that he forgets all bodily functions..    THIRTY-THREE.    . half white ( scottish descent ), half indigenous american ( mohawk tribe ).    THIRTY-FOUR.    . chris isn't good with numbers, but he remembers faces/names super well. he's the type to ask how your mom's doing and you don't even remember bringing her up..    THIRTY-FIVE.    . doesn't want to admit his hearing isn't perfect on his right side. he stands to someone's right to circumvent misunderstandings.
